This fun experiment will help your kids understand why pizza dough rises! To conduct the experiment, you will need a plastic or glass bottle, 2 tbsp of yeast, 1 tbsp of sugar, 2-3 tbsps of lukewarm water, a party balloon, and a bowl or mug filled with lukewarm water. Ask your kids to stir the separate ingredients into a mixture. Then, pour the mixture into the bottle and stretch the balloon over the mouth of the bottle. Place the bottle into the mug full of warm water and observe. You will notice within an hour how the balloon has inflated and reached its maximum size due to the yeast!
