Spooktacular Indoor Fun Games to Play With Kids on Halloween

October 21, 2020 / Learn About Osmo

It’s that time of year again – when you get to dress up in spooky costumes and eat some delicious holiday candy! Although COVID-19 means there won’t be any Halloween parties this year, it’s still possible to have fun and celebrate this day safely with your little goblins at home. Here are some indoor fun games to play with kids on Halloween:

Toilet Paper Mummy

As the name suggests, all your child needs to do is wrap you in toilet paper so you look like a mummy! If you have family over, you can split the kids into two teams. Whichever team wraps their mummy the fastest wins!

Pin the Tail on the Witch’s Cat

Use Osmo’s Masterpiece, an interactive drawing game, to draw a witch’s cat and help your kids make a tail using craft paper. Then, tape the cat to the wall and blindfold your child. Give them the tail to them, spin them around, and have them try to attach the tail to the cat! If you want to make the game even spookier, you could draw a skeleton and a bowtie to pin on it instead.

Feed the Monster

First, make a trash can using some cardboard. Next, craft the face of a funny monster on the lid using construction paper, so that every time you open your trash can, it looks like you’re “feeding” the monster!

Here’s an image of a friendly monster you could color:

Face Painting

Ask your child what they’d like to look like, for instance a cat, a pumpkin, or a ghost. You can paint their face, or they can paint yours instead! After the transformation is complete, you could even put on a short skit.

Pumpkin Twister

This is a twist on the classic Twister game that your kids are sure to love! Cut out pumpkins of different colors using craft paper and stick them on a big white sheet of paper. Next, give instructions like “put your right hand on a yellow pumpkin” and “put your left leg on a black pumpkin.” The last player standing wins!

Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Hide pictures of a ghost, pumpkin, bat, and other Halloween-related items throughout the house for your kids to find! Here’s a sample list you could use for your Halloween scavenger hunt riddles for kids. Whoever finishes finding all of the images the fastest wins!

Monster Cupcakes

What better way is there to spend some quality time with your little one than making cupcakes! You could even ask your child to read the recipe steps for you to hone their reading skills. Once you’re done making your cupcakes, make sure to add toothpicks with googly eyes taped on to make the cupcake look like a monster! Check out Osmo’s Pizza Co. for more fun learning with food!
